In this episode, Opaque starts by reading some of Carlita’s email before playing part 1 of the interview with Jason, and because of the length of the emails, Opaque has decided to read excerpts of Carlita’s emails a regular thing on this show.

When the talk with Jason commences, the first topic is cancer, as he currently has a relative who is diagnosed terminal. During this talk, Jason philosophises about what route causes of cancer could be, whether it is unsolved emotional baggage, diet or the radioactive soup we all find ourselves living in. Another theory he puts up is the possibility that certain cells in the body are becoming egotistical, and don’t care if they kill the host.

Opaque then tells Jason about the recent media circus surrounding reality TV star Jade Goody’s death by cancer, pointing out what a media circus it had become.

Jason points out that the human ego/identity does everything it can to hold on and even thinks ‘What’s in it for me?’ about the self dying. He stresses that we have become addicted to our identities, and maybe the way is to surrender even that.

After playing the chat with Jason, Opaque reads more of Carlita’s email, before talking about a shamanic talk he went to by a person who is an orthodox Inca trained shamanic healer, and uses this a base to talk about how we as a Western culture should approach this subject - should we plagiarise another culture’s shamanism or should we find our own?
