In this episode, Opaque starts by playing part 1 of a lecture with Graham Hancock recorded Tuesday 26 May 2009 at the October Gallery in Holborn, Central London. Starting from the premise that our society focuses on the alert, problem solving state of mind and tries to pretend that that their is no other, and that shamanic states are considered threatening to the Western psyche, Graham focuses, amongst other things, on how cave paintings by prehistoric man are evidence of psychedelic origins of our evolution, how all the usual images such as animal headed humanoids, serpent and even alien ‘Greys’ appear painted on the walls of these cathedral like cave interiors. As part 1 of the talk comes to an end, Graham points out how both the prophet Mohammed and female shaman Maria Sabine went from being illiterate to suddenly being able to read in an instant due to a trance state.

After the talk, Opaque talks about how psychedelics have become between him and a friend of many years. That the week before this podcast was a week of bad experiences and fallings out for him, and that one of those experiences was falling out with a friend who, instead of seeing Opaque as a shamanic psychedelic user, sees him as a ‘mentally ill person with a drug problem’. Opaque urges listeners to send emails if they have had this kind of disagreement with any friends in the past, so that he doesn’t have to feel alone in this.
