In this episode, Opaque goes to Glastonbury with his tent, mic and recorder and gives a taste of Beltane from the cultural grass roots perspective. It starts at 6am in the morning on May 1, when he ventures up to the top of Glastonbury Tor. When he gets there he encounters morris dancers poets, bards and singers, drummers etc. Opaque’s old friend Kieran (who he hasn’t seen in over ten years) makes an appearance too. After witnessing the celebrations on the Tor, Opaque takes a journey down to Chalice Well, where he records the singers by the Maypole, and chats to a few more people he meets along the way including a couple of young men with staffs. Music by Fairport Convention.
